Acts 2:40- Save Yourselves From This Perverse Generation

Acts 2:40- Save Yourselves From This Perverse Generation
By: Eric Gajewski
Acts 2: 40  Save yourselves from this perverse generation.

Brethren, the hour is late in the day, therefore, do not delay putting off your salvation.  We see we are being surrounded on every side with uncleanliness and ungodliness.  We see the quarrels and disputes even amongst those of his own.  We see so many blind as to the hour we live in.  Some notice but do not care.  Some notice and make no amendment.  You are the only one who can control your own actions.  Thus, apply all of your time into pleasing God and turning form the world.  Save yourself.  And if you would be so willing to follow in the Ways of Selfless Love do your best to make reparation for the conversion of sinners.

The Spiritual Combat: WHAT TO DO WHEN THE WILL IS APPARENTLY OVERPOWERED, AND UNABLE TO RESIST THE SENSUAL APPETITES
IF YOU EVER FEAR that your will should fall before the lower appetite, or other enemies that attempt to overcome it; if you perceive that your courage and determination are failing, hold your ground------do not retreat from the field. You must regard the victory as your own as long as you are not completely overcome.

Novus Ordo: Sister Cristina is back and singing about the Kabbalah & Midrash

Novus Ordo: Sister Cristina is back and singing about the Kabbalah & Midrash
New Apostles with a new evangelization in action
The song ‘Hallelujah’ was written by Leonard Cohen.  The concepts in the song are portrayed to the unknowing and ignorant public as biblical when in fact, they are Talmudic and Kabbalistic (see, The Midrash and Kabbalah Behind Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”).  ‘Hallelujah’ is a demoralizing song, designed to undermine the listerner’s faith in God, and an anti-Christ one too.  Cohen was a descendant, on both the maternal and fraternal sides of his family, from many celebrated rabbis, including Zionists and foreign agents of B’nai B’rith.  Cohen was an unofficial high-priest of the kabbalistic rabbinical talmudic religion. (In the linked Cohen video, Cohen recites part of the Amidah invocation, see ‘Amidah’ in The symbolism of the gifts Francis received and gave while at the Great Synagogue of Rome for more information.)

The sodomite cabal in the Vatican must be obliterated and scattered to the winds.

By whom, though?*

That's a good question, as there isn't a question of a lavender mafia inside the Vatican; the lavender mafia runs the Vatican.

Being Over Doing: Resisting the Cult of Speed

Being Over Doing: Resisting the Cult of Speed
If there’s one thing our culture values, it is speed. Fast food. Fast cars. Fast internet. The more quickly and efficiently anything can be done, the better.
Yet there are few things more destructive to authentic human experience than speed. Hurriedness is not the father of wisdom.
Doing things rapidly causes us to devalue them. Then again, perhaps we hurry because we do not value things already. It is not normal to want to rush something beautiful or important, something you love. Only unimportant things are rushed, and it says a great deal about the modern mindset that we want everything from conversations to food preparation to be nearly instant.

Crusader Horses

Crusader Horses
Horses were an absolutely essential — indeed defining — component of a knight’s equipment. The German word for knight (ritter) derives directly from the word for rider (reiter), while the French and Spanish terms, chevalier and caballero, derive from the word for horse (cheval and caballo respectively). While a knight might temporarily be without a mount, without a horse a knight could not fulfill his fundamental function as a cavalryman. Indeed, the symbol of knighthood was not the sword (infantrymen had those as well) or even the lance (they were throw away pieces of equipment), but the (golden) spurs tied to a knight's heels during the dubbing ceremony. Richard Barber notes in his seminal work The Knight and Chivalry that being financially in a position to outfit oneself with arms and horses was crucial to knightly status. David Edge and John Miles Paddock argue in their comprehensive work Arms and Armour of the Medieval Knight that “[a knight’s horse] was the most effective and significant weapon the knight had; the basis of his pre-eminent position in society and on the battlefield.”

Apostate Cardinal Marx: Homosexuals deserve an apology from the Church

Apostate Cardinal Marx: Homosexuals deserve an apology from the Church
Cardinal Reinhard Marx is more concerned about the Catholic Church apologizing for its inaction against previous German law prohibiting homosexuality than the country’s recent legalization of gay “marriage.”
The Munich cardinal, who is head of the German bishops’ conference and a member of Pope Francis’ Council of Cardinals, was decisive in saying he firmly upholds the Church’s teaching on marriage in a recent interview with Augsberger Algemeine.

The company one keeps says a lot

The company one keeps says a lot
We can tell an awful lot about a man based on the company he keeps.
As Christians, however, we know that one has to be careful not to judge rashly; like the Pharisees, who thought they had Our Lord pegged based on the motley crew that often surrounded Him.
What they failed to recognize is that Jesus did not endorse anyone’s sinful lifestyle; on the contrary, He never lent credence to the nefarious ways of any person or group.
If and when a man does this, however, now that’s a truly foolproof gauge of his mettle.
This brings me to recent news that Francis has endorsed an initiative of the Global Catholic Climate Movement.

One World Religion Watch:(Magical Magisterium) Francis And United Nations Say the Same
Argentinean born Archbishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, the chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, believes that we are currently witnessing a "magical moment" because "for the first time the magisterium of the Pope which responds to the Gospel, is parallel to the teaching of the United Nations". Sánchez said this during a talk at the Universidad Católica of Valencia, Spain.

According to him "the Pope's commitment is to eradicate poverty and hunger in the world," which is precisely the first of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

However, the United Nations aim at attaining these goals also by means of abortion and contraception.

Cardinal Cupich Allows Communion for Active Homosexuals

On July 17, Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich was asked in the video show “City Club of Chicago“ to comment on Springfield Bishop Thomas Paprocki who decreed, that people living in gay pseudo-marriages cannot receive Holy Communion.

Cupich answered, “We have been asked about that already and we responded that that is not our policy and we as a matter of practice don’t comment on the policies of other dioceses.”

According to Catholic doctrine, people living in grave sin are not allowed to receive Communion without previously repenting and confessing their sins.

Spine-tingling footage shows a swarm of locusts traveling across a road in the southern Russian republic of Dagestan, where swaths of land have been infested by the plague.
The amateur video, filmed through the windscreen of a moving car, shows what at first seems to be a sandstorm looming on the horizon. However, as the car approaches, the dense cloud turns out to be a chaotic mass of giant bugs making their way across the road.

Planet X Incoming: Birth Pangs (June 2017)
SOURCE- SOTT.NET
To say the weather is getting worse is an understatement.  Yesterday the quakes were off the charts with Russia recording an 8.0/tsunami watch.  June was a real doozie in terms of climate chaos around the world. Literal 'sheets of rain' were recorded in many different areas causing widespread flooding and deadly mudslides, along with impressive 'down bursts', seriously large hail and unseasonable snow. Tornadoes and waterspouts also made their presence felt this month from China and Russia to New Jersey. And of course, the increasingly common fireballs, sinkholes and wildfires also featured.

From Prophecies of La FRAUDAIS Marie Julie Jahenny Page 273
I read..
In the eternal Wisdom, I have my purpose to preserve life for an immense number of Jews, because on the day of My rejoicing I want to confound them. The ungodly eye of all those souls will remain open, because I want them to see My power, I preserve it them to see, with their own eyes, the RADIENT PLANET I will have coming out from the remotest parts of exile, under a frightening storm of fire, and under the signs of my anger, the whole sky will be crossed with bolts similar to the ones  My Father thrusted upon the World, when I offered Myself for the ransom of My people...

Remember the Souls In Purgatory: THREE GLANCES AT THE CEMETERY

THREE GLANCES AT THE CEMETERY
by Rev. John Evangelist Zollner, 1884

"Only the grave remaineth for me"--Job, 17: 1.

On this day, and during the Octave of All Souls, the faithful everywhere are accustomed to visit the graves. Many make even long journeys in order to adorn the graves of their parents, brothers and sisters, or other near friends and acquaintances, and to recite some pious prayers there. This custom of visiting the graves is very laudable and in every way appropriate, being very wholesome both for us and for the departed; for us, because the cemetery produces in us an earnest, holy disposition of mind, and causes us to make good resolutions to amend our life; for the departed, because the graves vividly remind us of our departed friends and fellow-Christians, and call upon us to pray for the repose of their souls. Since to visit the graves is of benefit both for you and the departed, I exhort you to cast,
I . One glance upon the graves,
II. One glance into the graves, and
III . One glance beyond the graves.

The Diocese of Oakland, California, has brought suit against architects and contractors involved in the building of the city’s new cathedral, pointing to “design and/or construction defects and damages.”
In the suit, the diocese reveals that water damage has led to sagging floors, cracked walls, and warped doorways in the Cathedral of Christ the Light. The cathedral, built at a cost of $175 million, was completed in 2018.

NWO Culture of Death: Global warming extremists urge gov’t to teach kids to have fewer babies
Governments and schools should be teaching kids to have fewer children in order to reduce climate change. That’s according to a study published in Environmental Research Letters, in which University of British Columbia grad student Seth Wynes and Sweden’s Lund University professor Kimberley Nicholas calculate how individual actions cut greenhouse gas emissions.
They claim having one fewer child is a “high impact action” far eclipsing any other in effectiveness.
The study has received widespread attention, reported uncritically in the mainstream media, such as the left-leaning U.K. Guardian, and generating controversy across the conservative blogosphere and Twitter.

Expert: Catholic Church Is Divided in "Two Parties"
“Roman Catholicism is now clearly divided between the Party of Francis and the Party of Benedict”, writes Mark Silk on religionnews.com. Silk is professor of religion in public life at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. According to him “not since the days of the Jesuits and the Jansenists has the Catholic elite — clerical and lay intellectual — been at daggers drawn as it is now.”

Silk considers Francis making Joseph Tobin of Newark, one of Americas most progressive and pro-gay bishops, a cardinal as a shot across the bow of the "conservativism" of Benedict XVI.

Jews Taking Over the Vatican & World

Vatican Exhibits Jewish Menorahs

The approved mystics said the Jews were behind this apostasy in the Church using Freemasonry as a front

SOURCE

Echoing the new doctrines of Vatican II, the Conciliar Church maintains a strict silence about the fact that the Jews wholly rejected Our Lord Jesus Christ as the Messiah and, consequently, murdered Him.

It also denies the fact that, with the Deicide, the vocation of the Jewish people of the Old Testament ended and was duly replaced by the Catholic Church, which became the Chosen People of the New Testament.

POEM: Pond of Self- Forgetfulness

 POEM: Pond of Self- Forgetfulness
By: Eric Gajewski

Royal Saints and the Catholic Church

Royal Saints and the Catholic Church
I recently had an exchange online (not the usual unpleasant sort) which I thought worth bringing to these pages as others may find it interesting. The question put to me was why, in the long history of the Roman Catholic Church, have relatively so few royals been raised to the status of recognized sainthood by the Church. Is it harder for monarchs to achieve sainthood? Is something blocking their way? My short answer was that it comes down to a little of column “A” and a little of column “B”. For one thing, the Catholic Church hierarchy today holds a vastly different broad view of politics than in the past. Whereas the historic Catholic Church held that, as Pope Pius VI said, monarchy is the best form of government, the Catholic Church of today is all about liberal, representative democracy, or at least so they claim. It would certainly be difficult to imagine Francis being very praiseworthy of any monarch as an ideal Christian ruler. Loyalty and obedience are not so popular as diversity and human rights nowadays. Yet, this was not always the case.

This excerpt from a crucial 1985 interview with KGB Defector Yuri Bezmenov throws our predicament into stark relief.

Essentially “our perception of reality” has been changed so we mistake evil for good, and embrace destruction.

By evil, I am referring to Zionism, globalism, feminism, liberalism, abolition of Christianity, gender, sexual degeneracy, family, in a word Communism, i.e. Cabalism (Jewish satanism.) Protocols 16 says society will be inducted into “our faith”.

Novus ordo: Radio Vatican Promoting Women's Ordination

Radio Vatican Promoting Women's Ordination
Women at the altar - This is obviously what the German-speaking department of Radio Vatican wants and has published strange pictures on its Facebook page. After protests by Catholics the pictures were removed - PHOTO

Vatican (kath.net) The German-speaking department of Radio Vatican yesterday, again, provoked Catholics with a strange selection of pictures and caused a certain ideological headlines to flash on their website. For example, on the Facebook site, with reference to an article on the Holy Eucharist and the phrase "How was the bread and wine again?" "What is the Body and Blood of Christ? " Strange photographs were published in which various women in civilian clothes are to be seen at the altar with the Blessed Sacrament together with an open sacramentary. Above all, a picture clearly gives the impression that a Catholic priestess is active on the altar.

After protests by the faithful on the Facebook page of Vatican Radio, the photos were later partly replaced or supplemented.

Edit: some may remember the last two times we reported this when they were promoting sodomy.

ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: Holy Land Franciscans build interreligious bridges with Buddhist camp

ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: Holy Land Franciscans build "interreligious bridges" with Buddhist camp
Franciscans are right behind the Jesuits as the worst order in this apostasy...
Venerable Sagarananda Tien and Father James Gardiner, a Franciscan Friar of the Atonement, walk with children from the U.S. Zen Institute summer camp July 12 to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington. The Buddhist children spent the afternoon learning about Christianity, St. Francis and the Franciscans as a way to understand other traditions and cultures, said Tien. (Credit: Rhina Guidos/CNS.)
Some of the children seemed fascinated with the life-size scene of Jesus on the cross. Some of the youngest wondered what was happening, why did people look so sad, they asked looking at the scene of Calvary. Others snapped pictures of a small holy water tank as their spiritual leader Venerable Sagarananda Tien showed one of the youngest campers how to put a donation in a box near the altar of St. Anthony at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington. “Venerable” is a title of respect for ordained monks such as Tien.

The Spiritual Combat: CONCERNING THE ASSAULT OF DESPAIR AND ITS REMEDY

The Spiritual Combat: CONCERNING THE ASSAULT OF DESPAIR AND ITS REMEDY
THE SECOND ASSAULT by which the perverse one attempts our destruction is the terror which he would infuse into our minds at the recollection of our past sins, hoping thereby to drive us to despair.
In this peril, hold fast to the infallible rule that the remembrance of your sins is the effect of grace, and is most salutary if it inspires within your heart sentiments of humility, compunction, and confidence in God's mercy. But if such recollection creates vexation and despondency, leaving you spiritless from the apparent cogency of the reasons adduced to convince you that you are irrevocably lost, be assured that it has been suggested by the devil. In such circumstances, humble yourself the more, and have greater confidence in God; thus shall you destroy the strategem of the devil, turn his own weapons against him, and give greater glory to God.

REVOLUTIONARY PRAXIS AND FSSPX

REVOLUTIONARY PRAXIS AND FSSPX

The SSPX is trapped in the revolutionary gear of the council church.

Monsignor Lefebvre said that "Satan's masterstroke" was "to spread the revolutionary principles introduced into the Church by the very authority of the Church." But what the disciples and followers of the SSPX have not come to understand, is the way of the revolutionaries, to gradually participate in those same principles to those who in theory are their opponents. Jean Ousset (quoted in an article in our blog) said: "To lead to atheism, communism does not demand to believe in such or such abstract arguments, it requires participation in its action, which, in practice, is much more effective. And how many fall into the trap, on the pretext that they are not asked to explicitly deny their faith! "(" Marxism and Revolution, "Cruz and Fierro Editores, Bs.

ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: Holy See to UN: ‘Religious leaders help prevent violence, foster virtue
I have added Pope St. Pius X full warning on the heretics who now occupy the Vatican and their human dignity, religious liberty babble...

The Holy See has hailed a UN plan of action for religious leaders to prevent incitement to violence that could lead to atrocity crimes, saying they also foster peaceful, inclusive societies.
Archbishop Bernardito Auza, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, said the Holy See “is not able to support every one of the 177 targets” of the plan but that it does represent “a major, practical step” toward a better society and culture.
He said the vocation of religious leaders and communities “is to carry out and inspire actions aimed at helping the building of societies based on respect for life and human dignity, charity, fraternity, which goes far beyond tolerance, and solidarity.”

ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: Reformed Churches join Catholics and Lutherans on the Doctrine of Justification

ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: Reformed Churches join Catholics and Lutherans on the Doctrine of Justification
This is the Joint Declaration regarding the Doctrine of Justification that Ratzinger played such a large role in during the late 90s. It came about as a step toward Christian Unity nearly 500 years after the division from the Reformation in the sixteenth century.

It was originally signed by Catholics and Lutherans signifying "a common understanding of justification by God's grace through faith in Christ.” Now, the World Communion of Reformed Churches also has recently joined by signing this document in Germany, becoming the forth Church to pledge their agreement that Christians of all denominations have more in common than the initial question that separated them in the beginning: faith or works.

BREAKING: Benedict issues clarion call to all bishops

BREAKING: Benedict issues clarion call to all bishops

The message sent by Benedict to be read aloud at the funeral of Cardinal Meisner is generating a great deal of buzz in Catholic circles, and for good reason.
Even so, some very important aspects of the text don’t seem to be getting nearly enough attention. Before we get to that, however, let’s take a moment to consider just how extraordinary this situation truly is.
We have good reason to believe that Benedict is a man “under wraps,” if you will. One might even suggest that he is being held captive to some extent.
Yes, I know… It sounds like a Dan Brown novel, but let’s not forget yet another bombshell that Benedict managed to lob into the public record; this one dated October 2014.

"Catholics Will Have to Decide Whether They Guard the Faith Over Papolatry”

"Catholics Will Have to Decide Whether They Guard the Faith Over Papolatry”
“Francis is more interested in leftwing politics than in Catholic theology”, George Neumayr, contributing editor of The American Spectator, states talking to Tom Woods on July 14th on tomwoods.com. Woods describes Francis as a result of John Paul II who - as he puts it - appointed "absolutely terrible people" as bishops: "Catholics have suffered under Bergoglios for decades now”.

Neumayr agrees that a lot of the liberal bishops were appointed by John Paul II and Benedict XVI. He sees Francis as the “culmination of a century” of liberalism and modernism in the Church.

For him it is "highly unlikely" that Francis, who in his theology is “more a Protestant than a Catholic” will convert to Catholicism. Instead, the realistic scenario is that Francis will produce division and chaos, "Catholics will have to decide whether they guard the faith over papolatry.”

And: “The Cardinals have to declare that Francis is a bad pope who must be resisted.”

Bishop Williamson- Menzingen’s Mistake – II

Menzingen’s Mistake – II

Rome says, the Church’s crisis is not such.
Now Menzingen is likewise out of touch.

The problem of the June 13 letter from Society of St Pius X headquarters in Menzingen, Switzerland, meant to “set the record straight on marriages” after Rome’s April 4 proposal to facilitate the integration of Society marriages into the Conciliar structure, is no small problem of merely this or that argument or this or that detail. The problem is the total Conciliar mentality of the churchmen making the proposal. In the immortal words of one of the three Society theologians who, led by Bishop de Galarreta, stood up to four Roman “theologians” in the “Theological Discussions” of 2009 to 2011, the four Romans were “mentally sick but they have the authority.” Such is the Romans’ (objective) “mental sickness” that many a believing Catholic is tempted to conclude that they have lost all Church authority. Alas, they still at least appear to have it, so that in the name of “obedience” they are objectively destroying the Church, whatever may be – God knows – their subjective good intentions.

Fr. Voigt, "Every nation requires this sustenance"

Fr. Voigt, "Every nation requires this sustenance"
The center of every social body requires nutrition.  Food keeps us together and strengthens our bonds with one another.  Food supplies the power upon which we live and work.  Without this power and without a good source of food we become weak and fruitless.  As this applies to our physical nature so it applies to our spiritual nature as well.  "You are what you eat."  This remark wins acclaim in all levels of the person's life.  Eat junk food and become a junkie.  Eat nutritious and wholesome food and the body responds with energy.  Eat the Bread of Life and the life of Christ thrives within the soul and informs the entire body as well.

Fr. Campbell, “The Foundation of the World” (Eph.1:4)

“The Foundation of the World” (Eph.1:4)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God; and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was made nothing that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness; and the darkness grasped it not” (Jn.1:1-5).

Little Crosses Keep You on Love's path: Heavy Crosses Advance You in Love's way...

Little Crosses Keep You on Love's path: Heavy Crosses Advance You in Love's way...
By:  Eric Gajewski

Along our journey in this exile we will encounter many different crosses to endure.  The cross is not optional but necessary.  St. Therese in her writings distinguished between the little crosses and heavy crosses of which I hope to expound upon now.  There are some days in which the cross seems light and more bearable and then there are other crosses which seem to completely crush us.  Yes it is true the heavy crosses are sent to completely crush the self in us and this is why so few will willingly accept this type.  We must trust in God’s plan for our lives and quit looking at our neighbors or other Catholics who may seemingly not be carrying any crosses at all on the surface level.  The Way to Sacred Heart is full of violence to self and pain.  It is full of tests and trials.  We can simply crosses into the two categories of: little ones which keep us on love’s path and (2) heavy crosses which advance you in Love’s way.  Let us talk further.

New Evangelization: Francis Says Be Creative!

New Evangelization: Francis Says Be Creative!
The heretics of Vatican II have been more than creative (novel) for the past 50 years...

Francis has sent a message to an International Catechetical Symposium which is taking place this week at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires, and has as its theme “blessed are those who believe”.

In the message to the symposium, the Holy Father points out that “being a catechist is a vocation of service in the Church, that has been received as a gift from the Lord and must in turn be transmitted.”
He goes on to say that the catechist walks with Christ, therefore is not a person who starts from his own ideas and tastes. He or she  looks for the Lord and that searching makes their heart burn.

— English transcript —

In this moment, young people and adults of Israel, Palestine and other parts of the world, of different nationalities, creeds and realities, all of us breathe the same air, we step upon the same ground, our common home.

Your stories are many — each one has their own. There are as many stories as there are people, but life is one.

That’s why I want to celebrate these days you’ve lived in Jerusalem, because you yourselves, from your differences, achieved unity. No one taught you this. You lived it.

Francis is a globalist who wants austerity for you and your family!

Francis is a globalist who wants austerity for you and your family!
Francis says that the biggest expenses in life are the essentials: food, medicine, and clothing.  After that follows cosmetics (beauty products) and then pets!  Don’t believe him?  Francis says he has the statistics!

His answer AUSTERITY!!!

Francis conveniently omits usury, rents, insurance, automobile costs, mortgages, taxes, regulation, children, and education!  This is telling as it shows truly who his bosses are.

Argentinean Paper Accuses Francis Of Being Divisive

Argentinean Paper Accuses Francis Of Being Divisive
Writing for the Argentinean La Nación, Loris Zanatta, a professor of political science at Bologna University, Italy, examines the reasons given by Pope Francis' Argentinean friends why he does not visit his native country.

Among others Zanatta quotes Argentinean born Vatican Archbishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo who said that Francis avoids Argentina in order not to throw salt on wounds "that afflict the country since times immemorial".

"Is this possible?"- Zanatta asks, "Does an authority whose mission is to reconcile, to appease, and to calm the passions, cause discord in his own country? - So it is, and Francis friends believe that the Argentinians are to blame for it." Zanatta adds, "But is it not also the fault of the Pope, if he creates divisions in Argentina and other parts of the world?"

Zanatta criticises Francis' leftwing bias, "If your heart beats in one direction, if you have recipes on everything (from the climate to retirement, from work to migration, from poverty to development), if you bless some and condemn others, then it is not surprising that you divide more than you unite. For all those things politics were invented."

Orthodox-Catholic joint consecration: Coming soon?

Orthodox-Catholic joint consecration: Coming soon?
As Cornelia Ferreira pointed out in her recent post Fatima Through the Lens of Vatican II: As Illustrated by Raymond Cardinal Burke, the Blue Army Vatican mouthpiece has an interesting suggestion for a future Consecration:
“Perhaps now is the time to invite our Russian Orthodox brothers to join in a consecration in order to please Our Lord who told Sr. Lucia, ‘I want my whole Church [WAF’s emphasis] to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary….’”
The effort to recast the Fatima message into an endorsement for all things conciliar; including the activities of the ecumenical church-of-dialogue, is nothing new, but this was the first time I had ever encountered a proposal for just such a joint effort with the schismatic Russian Orthodox.
One wonders, is this just some random suggestion from an overzealous ecumenist, or does the idea actually enjoy support among influential churchmen?
Apparently, it is the latter.

Monarch Profile: King Charles Emmanuel III of Piedmont-Sardinia

Monarch Profile: King Charles Emmanuel III of Piedmont-Sardinia
Only the second king of the House of Savoy, Charles Emmanuel III was undoubtedly one of the most ambitious and military-minded of the family. That he was to prove an astute and formidable monarch is all the more noteworthy inasmuch as he was not raised with the expectation of taking on such a responsibility and had been neither very well liked or well prepared by his father. Charles Emmanuel of Savoy was the second son of King Victor Amadeus II by his wife Queen Anne Marie d’Orleans. He was born in Turin on April 27, 1701, well before his father was King of Sardinia and was thus only Duke of Savoy. He was nicknamed “Carlino” as a boy for being rather frail and not the strapping, handsome son all fathers wish for. In time, however, his people would give him a more praiseworthy nickname; “the Hardworking” king. As his father became involved in the War of the Spanish Succession and because of the long military tradition of the family, young Charles Emmanuel was given a more thorough education on the subject of warfare though other subjects were neglected.
