WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

Fr. Voigt, Two ears and one mouth

Fr. Voigt, Two ears and one mouth
Sunday Reflection

He was like every other man possessing two ears and one mouth but since he was deaf he could not speak with precision.  He was brought to the Master Who created him.  Now the human nature of our Lord interacts with the divine nature which in theological lingo is called a Theandric action.  This is an action in which the two natures cooperate in a cure.  The human nature uses spittle, the touch and the word.
"Be opened" was the divine command and the human nature was perfected.  The man spoke plainly and could hear perfectly.  End of story or so you think.

No, this story is occurring in this world more than ever.  The world is becoming more and more deaf to the words of God and embracing the word of the world.  One daily hears more and more foul language, curses, road rage.  The mouth has become the vehicle of condemnation of one and all.  Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and the heart of man has become demonic.  There is rarely a conversation concerning the beauty of the virtuous life.  We hear all about our neighbor and the foul things that he may have done.  Our language is far from edifying and instead it is seductive and sensual.

In fact the recent material on sex ed for the Catholic teen is filled with explicit immodesty and fails to speak of the hell that sensuality promises the young people.  Imagine our Lady's explicit remark that many are headed to hell because of the sins of the flesh.  Now a course comes out which fails to distinguish between mortal or venial sins.  It rips the prime teachers of the child right out of the picture.  Now the educator takes over and the teen peer group will teach and corrupt the souls that hear.  We are deaf and the tongue is foul.  Tongues like these like a fire in the sensual souls of the youth and can destroy the purity that could have taken them to heaven.

Today more than ever we must clean up our language to protect the innocent children God grants to us.  It is so important for the souls of the youth that foul language be eliminated from their vocabulary.  I just don't want to hear it and never do I desire to use it.  As St. Paul remarks that we should speak only that which is good and which lifts man up.  With the word of God in our ears the power of God's love will flow from our tongues and society
will grow toward heaven.  The tongue becomes the barometer of our spiritual journey to Christ.  It tells us whether we are in love with God or with self.  Listen to your conversations and examine your conscience.  It is a good way to assess the direction of our eternal life:  heaven or hell.

Let us promote the reading and the reflection on the word of God and if this word is in our hearts then the word of truth will issue forth from the mouth.  The tongue will become another altar holding the body of Christ and speaking of His love for each soul.  In this action the pollution of the word of the world will be conquered by the greater Word of God.  Know this word and live in this word.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
